Wedding photographer at Wood Lane Countryside Centre, Sheffield
I have photographed a wedding at Wood Lane Countryside Centre in Sheffield, and it is a laid-back, countryside setting that suits a relaxed, personal kind of day.
Vanessa and Dan’s day started in the cobbled courtyard, with guests arriving under bunting and the bride stepping out of a red car in front of the barn doors. The ceremony was in the barn itself, with wooden chairs, plum ribbons and white curtains, and it felt warm and unfussy.
Afterwards there was plenty of space to wander. We took the couple out along the garden paths to a wooden gate in the woods and a stone bench in the meadow, while guests played crazy golf on the lawn. Two dogs came along too.
The wedding breakfast and the evening dancing were both in the barn, with festoon lights and a lot of laughter, which is exactly the kind of thing I like to photograph.
If you are getting married here, I would plan your portraits around the gardens and the woods, keep the group photos short, and leave room for the courtyard moments at the start and the lawn games in the afternoon.
